Geoff Williams and John Davis were successful yesterday in winning the pairs event at South Burnie. They defeated Wayne Manson and Peter French (last year's winners) 20-16. Well done, and now John can buy that new fishing reel!

Bowls Notes 19 November

The only bright spot Saturday was the super performance of Premier League in scoring 20 points against Latrobe on their own green. Leading the way with top rink of the day were Tony Simpson, Jason Morrisby, Jeremy Turner and Trevor Carpenter +22. The 3 other inks turned in solid performances. Div 1 split the rinks losing overall by 9 shots. Div 2 had a day they would rather forget while Div 5 showed some positive signs against top team Penguin but were outplayed. Minor championships are set down to be played on Sunday. See notice board for details.

Arnie and Gooz in Adelaide

Well done to Mark Nitz and David Gewin in Adelaide. The pair came away with two wins and a draw ... defeated Queensland in the morning and ACT just into the afternoon. Their fortunes became short-lived when they came up against the former Australian Coach Cameron Curtis and current NSW Open Singles Champion in Carl Healey. This pair went on to claim the Champion of Champion Pairs Trophy.
